WAIBIA 2021 : The 1st International Webinar on Innovative Applications of Biotechnologies in the Food Industry: From The Laboratory to The Enterprise

At the crossroads of several disciplines, biotechnology constitutes powerful innovation tools in the agrifood sector for sustainable development. It is in this spirit of creativity and in response to the needs of industry, we thought of the first international webinar on Innovative Applications of Biotechnologies in the Food Industry: from the laboratory to the enterprise (WAIBIA 2021).

The webinar will be held on December 1st and 2nd , 2021 online. It is organized by the Laboratory of Biotechnology and Food Quality (BIOQUAL), the Department of Biotechnology, the National Institute of Nutrition, Food and Agro-Food Technologies (INATAA), University Frères Mentouri Constantine 1 (UFMC1), in partnership with the industrial sector.

This event will be a scientific exchange forum between academics, researchers and industry. The objectives are to take advantage of biotechnological advances in the agri-food sector; to target and promote research adapted to the expectations of the socio-economic sector; to exchange experience; and to promote the results of scientific research, through potential industrial applications and solutions for small and medium-sized businesses.

WAIBIA 2021 program contains video conferences, oral communications and posters on the following themes :

  • Applications of Biotechnological active ingredients of microbial origin in the food industry
  • Molecules and bioactive plant extracts: from extraction to incorporation into food
  • Food biosecurity
  • Progress and applications of biotechnologies in the sector of meat and meat products

We hope that this webinar would be an occasion for great scientific meeting, exchange, debates, and friendly social interaction.

The session for submission of communication proposals is open until October 21th, 2021.
