STEFANIA CARPINO is a Director at the Central Inspectorate for the Protection of Quality and Repression of Fraud in Agri-Food Products (ICQRF) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry (MASAF) in Italy. Her function is guiding and coordinating research and analytical activity of the ICQRF laboratories. She coordinates different working groups in the sectors of activity of the ICQRF laboratories.
She has represented the ICQRF in numerous national and international conferences and meetings, i.e. Expo Dubai 2021. She also gave interviews for national and international TV broadcasts, and in the context of judicial police activities and research activities in collaboration with universities.
She served for several years as professor teaching at University of Catania, Italy.
She also serves as professor at Level II Master “Scientific investigation techniques in the food sector” at Sapienza University, Rome.
She had her Ph.D, majoring in Animal Science with minor in Food Chemistry and food sensory analysis, at Cornell University Ithaca - New York, USA.
She has organized training courses for oil panel leaders and oil tasters to improve the efficiency of ICQRF accredited panel groups.
Chemical expert for olive oil as Italian representative, indicated by MASAF, at the DG-AGRI Commission, Brussels.
She has published more than fifty reviewed papers on international scientific journals, five scientific book chapters, almost one hundred abstracts presented at International and National conferences, and numerous informative articles on the agri-food sector.
