The training in urban planning focuses on studying the functioning of natural environments and the dynamics and activities of societies, aiming to understand the interactions between the environment and society. The teachings adopt a technical and methodological approach, emphasizing statistics and mathematics applied to geography, cartography, geographic information systems (GIS), and remote sensing. Its objective is to enable students to understand and solve planning problems by mastering methods and tools for collecting and processing spatial information used in planning projects, such as survey techniques, mapping, statistical analysis, and spatial analysis. The instruction is delivered through lectures, tutorials, practical exercises, and field internships.
